
Does it get any more basic than biscuits? You can spread them with jam, smother them in gravy, or build them into breakfast sandwiches. Biscuits are easy to make and easy to devour! This recipe makes 12.
Basic Vegan Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (4 oz) vegan butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup soy milk
Directions:
- Pre-heat the oven to 450ºF.
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
- Cut the vegan butter into the flour using a pastry knife or a fork.
- Add the soy milk to the crumbly flour mixture and stir or knead to combine.
- To shape the biscuits, roll out the dough on a floured surface. Dip the rim of a glass in flour, then use the floured glass to cut out biscuit shapes. Or, just divide the dough into 12 parts, roll into balls, and flatten on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 450ºF for 10 minutes.
